When All The Glass Ceilings Have Been Broken

Liberals are not very good at fixing things, but they are terribly good at breaking things. And if they see something that isn’t broken, then it needs to be broken. And once it’s broken, then they insist it isn’t broken.

I remember it like yesterday, Halle Berry stood on stage, Oscar in hand, declaring the glass ceiling had been broken. I thought it had been broken by Hattie McDaniel, Sidney Poitier, and Denzel Washington but apparently her ceiling was just the one for beautiful, thin, half-black women.

I’m all for the promotion of individuals based on their merits. Hattie, Sidney, Denzel, and Halle most certainly deserved their awards. But it seems there is a growing group of people in this country that aren’t really interested in accomplishments or merits, only breaking ceilings, imagined or un-imagined. They believe that we won’t be a truly free society until we have a trans-gender president, regardless of whether or not this person actually has the ability to govern, and regardless of the condition the country is in when they are done governing. Yes, we all, women, men, black, white, gay, straight, and trans, will be unemployed (and maybe speaking Spanish or Russian), but at least we’ll have “equality.”

Breaking things is a common disease among those whose priorities deal with appearances rather than substance. Few care if presidents can actually fix things. In a liberal’s eyes, the president’s job is just to break more ceilings. I think it has to do with misery seeking company, behavior justification, a failure of the imagination, and a little boredom thrown in. And as usual, liberals think that if you can get enough people to agree with you, it is sound thinking, no matter what the thinking is, and no matter what the ultimate outcome.

This insanity is dominating the world stage. At least two of the world’s leaders share in it. Obama wants to be impeached. Putin wants a war in Ukraine. They both thrive on chaos, because, the goals of the BAMN (by any means necessary) crowd can only flourish in a chaotic environment. This is how insane despots manipulate. And the lunatic in Moscow knows that he must do all he can before the lunatic in Washington leaves office in 2016.

Obama and wife have been out raising money for the Democrats for the 2014 mid-term elections, saying it’s going to be a rough election, that everyone must vote like they’ve never voted before. But Mr. President, if you and fellow Democrats have done such a great job governing, and the American people are so pleased with the results, then why will it be such a rough, tight race?

It’s OK, Mr. President. You don’t need to answer that. You have a broken immigration system to “fix.” Let me help you with that. The only things being broken with the immigration system are the laws and the borders. But I’m guessing you already know that. I’m guessing you really don’t want to enforce existing laws or to fix the border security, even though the overwhelming majority of the American people are insisting that you do so.

Oh well, at least we’re sure the glass ceiling has been broken on mentally ill men being allowed to rule countries. Guess it doesn’t get any more broken than this, unless, maybe we try and break the glass ceiling for mentally ill women in 2016?
